Data Deletion

Two ways to delete your data: through Instagram's deauthorization flow (instant), or by emailing us.

Option 1 — Remove HITCH from Instagram

The fastest way. Instagram tells us, and we delete your connection automatically.

  1. Open Instagram on your phone or web.
  2. Go to Settings → Apps and websites.
  3. Find HITCH and tap Remove.
  4. Instagram notifies us and your encrypted access token, DM event metadata, and opt-out list for that connection are deleted within minutes via our deauthorize callback.

Option 2 — Email us

If you don't have access to the Instagram account, or want your full HITCH account (bookings, profile) deleted as well:

  1. Email privacy@hitchme.live with subject “Data Deletion Request”.
  2. Include the email address and / or Instagram username on your HITCH account.
  3. We confirm within 72 hours and complete deletion within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.

What gets deleted: Instagram connection record, encrypted access token, DM event metadata, opt-out list, account profile, and bookings (subject to a 7-year retention for completed financial records as required by law).
